« Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the products of the earth which is raised to the highest level of perfection. » said Hernest Hemingway

What is particular of a high quality wine ? Terroir, undoubtedly. As such, the Château Grand Français boasts an exceptional location: the Libourne. Ideally located between the Valley Isle and the Dronne, this region is a miracle for the vines, and of which our wine is the best proof. For centuries, Grand Français has drawn its strength from the sandy loam soil to produce serious red wines, offering an incredible natural richness. Our vines, exposed on a hill overlooking the valley of the Isle hill, south facing, enjoy perfect exposure for optimal growth of the grapes.

Today, Grand Français has all the attributes of a typical Libournais vineyard. Located north of Saint-Emilion, a medieval town listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, our estate is nestled amidst the landscape of hills and traditional vineyards at the heart of a region with ancient wine traditions.
